Greetings and Merry Meet everyone ....

A field of corn stands tall in the shimmering heat of an August first afternoon. Overhead a hawk circles, and everywhere there is the hum and buzz of insects. As the month begins, we celebrate the festival of Lammas, the celebration of the first harvest. The Grain harvest. Featured in many traditions is the gathering of grain heads, and the making of the Corn or Grain Mother.

This is a wonderful time of the year. The days start getting shorter, the heat of the summer starts to wane, and soon we'll have frosts. Seems so far away sometimes with 98 degree heat, but the cycle keeps turning. And in the turning of this wheel of the year we see each Sabbat and each month as part of the continuous story of the Goddess and the God. The story tells us that the first is deathless, and the second must die to be reborn.

This issue takes you through this wonderful story. We have articles from StormWing, Mike Nichols, and Baboo Kyra Finch to help you on this journey. And Luna graces us with some wonderful Lammas recipes. What a wonderful celebration this will be.

Selene SilverWind give us another issue of Promoting Pagan Family Values, a Fiona & Julian that will bring another tear to your eye, and as usual her wonderful events list.

Sorcy SummerWind asks us the question "how much love is enough" when it comes to pets. An age old question that can never be answered. Our lovely young one Meagan is with us again too. This is the issue that will help you through many different phases of this season. From holiday lore, to new and different ways of thinking. What a wonderful journey.

It's also the time for two new beginnings. First of all, CyberStreet has given us a gift. Almost a year ago they rescued our publication when we lost our server. Now, they've taken in our web site. Yep, notice the above URL, it's new. :-) We thank them so very much for everything they do for the Wiccan's and the Pagan's of the world. The second new beginning is we now feature Rhia's Wicca 101. Long ago it was announced that it would be coming, and now it's here. Lesson #1.

Last issue I anounced a wonderful poem that I personally liked very much. It was brought to me by a very special friend, Luna. Written by BirdLady, it's titled Dedicated to Cerridwen. Like I said, it was very beautiful. Timeless. Due to my own mistake, it wasn't included in the issue even though it was listed in the index. I'm very sorry you didn't get to see this wonderful treasure, but I did include it in this issue. It's here, I promise.
:-)

There are many more wonderful submissions from very wonderful people in this issue. I know you'll enjoy them as much as we enjoyed bringing them to you. Now, without anymore from me, enjoy your harvest issue of Cauldrons and Broomsticks. The Lammas 1999 issue ....

Blessings, Warmth and Love in your life .....
