Planetary Ritual for Candlemas/Imbolc [Feb 2nd] - Sarolta

Well ... Happy Imbolc!!! :-)

Imbolc, also known as Imbolg, Oimelc, and Candlemas is one of our Greater Sabbats, and is one of the oldest on the Wiccan calendar. It's the time to make Corn Dolly's, in Ireland to carry the breedhoge from house to house collecting food and money in honor of Miss Biddy, and to light torches and candles everywhere. "By torch and taper, bonfire bright; we woo the Sun on Imbolc night." A time for purifying and preparing for spring, and saying goodbye to winter. Purifying your home and area by burning sage, and other herbs. But this will all be brought out in this issue. A very wonderful issue. :)

Our issue begins with a wonderful info-history about the holiday by Ahneke Greystone, and is followed by a ritual and an invocation. I thought they made a wonderful grouping to start out the issue with, to direct us to the spiritual side of the holiday. After those, DreamDancer takes us on another of his journeys with The Ice Maiden. Little secret here, but Ahneke Greystone and DreamDancer happen to be my brother and sister. My chosen brother and sister. They also have all the talent in the family. :)

Selene Silverwind took care of this holiday by sharing her talents in Promoting Pagan Family Values, and her Michael and Beth Chronicles. That woman has more talent than you can imagine. Luna Willowsong, a woman very dear to my heart, shared with us Chickadee, Demeter Speaks. It's very beautiful. Among all of this, we have our on going regulars; Abby, Mystic Moon, Mewsings from The Ally, Megan's Imbolc, The Herb Corner, our new regulars Windows of Lite, and A Whisper In The Darkness. In this issue we also have a series of reviews on new and existing books on the market. ~Rain reviews The Pagan Book of Halloween, and Susan Davis sent us four short reviews on different books. Very well done all of them. And for you puzzle freaks, Isha ArrowHawk gave you, once again, a wonderful word search. I sure am glad she brought up the idea of those word searches. That's what we've been missing. :)

Two more of my very dear friends of mine gave us their thoughts. Savannah Moon shares with us Merry Moon, and Seanachai shares a very wonderful view of winter, mouse tracks in the snow. :) And finally we finish this issue with our Planetary Ritual for Candlemas/Imbolic from Sarolta.

All in all, it's a wonderful issue, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have in bringing it to you.

Blessings, warmth and love ....
