Midnight Grey Wolfpup: Owner/Publisher

I'm Midnight Grey Wolfpup, and I'm the Publisher and Owner of Cauldrons and Broomsticks. I don't write much that I feel is worth reading, so that's not my thing. I took over when the founder disappeared, so this wonderful newsletter could live on, and what a wonderful experience it is. I'm more like the one that just keeps everything on track. Mailing dates and such. It's a real pleasure working with the talent that we have on our staff. I'm starting to wonder how I ever was blessed so much as to work with such wonderful people. I love each and every one. We have good plans in the works, and talent around us that will knock your socks off! :-) That is ... if you wear socks. Anyway .. new developments are bound to happen. I live in the greater Erie area, and have been involved in the Craft for "quite some time". Welcome to a small part of my world.

Michele: Senior Editor

Why hello there! I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to ignore you, I was busy putting together some more of the fabulous things we have submitted to us so often. I'm Michele, your Senior Editor. Yes, I said *your*. That's because this Ezine is yours, you who are reading this. Our illustrious Wolfpup turned the reins over to me early in 2003, which sure does make one feel proud. I'm only hoping I can live up to his high standards. But enough about that sort of thing.

I write some poetry, some short stories, and every so often book reviews (since I read so much, I usually let the others do their awesome book reviews instead of hogging the limelight). I'm so proud and thrilled to be working here with all of the wonderful talent we have, both full time and occasional submitters.

I adore animals, and spend much of my time surrounded by them (last count in our house was 7 cats, 2 dogs, 2 turtles, 2 frogs, a Bahaman Anole and countless fish). I enjoy baking (especially cookies), cross stitching, quilting, and reading, of course. I'm a Mom, Step-Mom, and live with our dearest Wolfpup in the Greater Erie, PA area.

I'm a basic Eclectic Pagan, usually solitary, although I don't mind working with others as well. I'm a little 'newer' to Paganism than many of our writers, but nobody seems to mind much, so I guess it's not a big deal. Well, I guess that's enough about me, I better get back to work, and you probably want to meet the rest of the staff.

What are you looking at me like that for? Go on, read the rest of the bios. Oh, you wanted to know more about me? Well then, I suppose you'll have to ask.

Kat: Megan Stories

I'm Kat Dyer always known as Kat in some variation or another. I'm a second degree priestess of the Oak, Ash & Thorn tradition, 37 yr old mother of two & wife of 11 years to my husband which should qualify me for some type of medal. I am owned by five cats at the moment and it was our second cat which actually first inspired the Meagan stories. I wanted some way to memorialize Starweaver Toebiter after he took off (the combination of being 'broken' at the vet & a new kitten in the house was too much) and I had already noted the deplorable lack of pagan children's stories which were anything more than just telling of our myths & legends...nothing about *modern* children, nothing that helped explain *why* they couldn't tell Uncle Joe that they'd been dancing in the moonlight without making our religion seem 'dirty' or 'bad'...and so I began writing about a little girl with a cat named Starweaver (yes, he was all black with a white 'star' on his chest). They came slowly at first, only the Samhain & Yule stories in 1991 (this was partially due to hearing someone from Llewellyn books say that there was *no* market for pagan childrens' books), but once my daughter was 3 and my son was born (1996) I began writing again...and they still say there's no market although Horned Owl has gotten about 500 responses on their survey that's not really enough to justify a print run. I'm always on the lookout for more suggestions for topics...I wrote one about a litter of puppies dying to help someone whose child was facing a similar situation...I also plan to start working on some activity books and eventually some stories about Corwin in the young adult age range...that is, if I *ever* get over this cold!

Merry Meet all, My name is Rain. I am a Solitary Wiccan Witch. I write the fiction column Mystic Moon for this e-zine. I enjoy writing, reading, swimming and surfing the net. My friends describe me as outgoing and crazy. One of my dreams is to have my own green-house. BabooKyra : "WITCH TIT?" "MY RITE TIT!"

I was raised in a pagan household. Our only religion was a nameless pantheism and we celebrated only the pagan elements of holidays. My family in encouraged original thought, creativity, a lack of respect for authority, and the ability to camouflage oneself when necessary.

We valued drama over reality, costumes over clothes. My Grandmother, whom we called Baboo, ran the family. We lived in large, decaying mansions that we never repaired in any way. When a house began to crumble around us, Baboo would sell it and buy another. Our household also included my two sisters, and assorted relatives and borders.

Our house was the center of the Bohemian/Beatnik community in Los Angeles in the 40.s and 50.s. I spent my childhood in my Mother's dance studios, my Father's art classes and my Grandfather's book rooms, reading whatever fell off the shelves and into my hands. I was a complete misfit and utterly miserable until I got to high school. Then I suddenly became interesting and my life improved considerably.

I married twice and I have a daughter from each husband. My current husband is my livesmate. My daughters are bright, wild and rebellious adults. And I'm living the best of all possible lives.

Blessed Be
Baboo Kyra Finch

Laurel Reufner

Laurel (Nightspring) Reufner has been a solitary pagan for over a decade now. I'm active in the local CUUPS chapter, and write for their publications.

Currently, three books and several articles are also holding me captive, along with whatever else seems too interesting to resist, which at the moment is planting one large and several smaller gardens around our house. Beautiful Southeastern Ohio has been home my entire life.

At the moment I live in Athens County with my wonderful husband and two adorable little heathens, er, daughters.

My website can be found at http://www.spiritrealm.com/Melinda/paganism/html.

Isha ArrowHawk : Misc. poems, rituals, assorted odds and ends, and Word Search
Personal Website : ArisRetreatAndGrove

I've been Pagan since I was a teenager. Seriously Wiccan since 1983, when I not only found wonderful teachers, but finally initiated before moving to Indianapolis. Since then, it's been a long uphill climb, with more Initiations and experience under my cord (yes, pun intended!).

I'm a triple Initiate, ordained minister, member of the Fellowship of Isis, Cherokee Medicine Woman, and all around eclectic. I was one of Wolfpup's original covenmates, and still consider him a most special, dear and close friend. :)

I'm also lucky enough to have been published in many Pagan publications such as a Canadian magazine, the Beltane Papers, and an upcoming Pagan anthology of poetry...as well as here in C&B. I also have a book, the first of a planned trilogy, out on CD-ROM..co-authored with another dear friend in Japan. So, my love of writing is firmly established.

I am list-mom to a few mailing lists, and am a co-moderator for a couple of writing groups. I'm a busy little Witch!

I'm a mom of two lovely girls, and newly married to my beloved Arcarius...the third husband and the last. Third time was definitely a charm for me. And add to that, being a member of the SCA, and you see a full plate.

I'm so proud of Wolfpup for letting me join this wonderfully diverse and talented group of people. Everyone is great, and at times, I am overwhelmed by their knowledge and artistic creativity. I hope that I can do this magazine and its staff proud. It's an honor to be in the ranks of such a close-knit and loving family.

Blessed Be!

StormWing : Holiday Lore

Merry Meet! My name is Storm Wing. I am a 43 year old Aries (Sun Sign) with Aries Rising, and Capricorn (Moon Sign) male-gendered person. I am also Gay and I do not have a significant other at this time, although I do share my life with a very gentle, sweet little girl doggie who is six years old, that I choose to call Amber. I currently reside in Hot Springs, Arkansas and am trying to locate other Wiccans in my area, so if you read this and you are nearby, please send me an email.

I am currently a Staff Writer for an online Pagan e-zine, "Cauldrons & Broomsticks". I am also a Community Leader on AOL, being a Chat Host in the Spirituality/Pagan Forum. I co-host a "Wicca 101" chat/class on Tuesday nights, along with my real life sister, and another mutual friend. The three of us cover a broad range of information, having a topic planned out in advance each week. It is quite popular in the AOL community, and I am very proud to be a part of it.

I consider myself to be an 'Eclectic Solitary Witch' and I personally love the word "Witch". It is a very appropriate word for me as it very much describes what I am, what I believe, and what I live - a daily life in the Craft. I first became interested in Witchcraft back in the seventies, and I have always had this inherent interest in the Occult - especially Wicca, Magick, and Witchcraft - and finally in 1992 decided to explore it further. In the Fall of 1992, while perusing the shelves at a local Occult/New Age Bookstore, I picked up a copy of "Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft". I very much liked what I read, and started buying and reading more and more by many different authors, including Ray Buckland, Scott Cunningham, Starhawk, Margot Adler, Laurie Cabot, Amber K, Pauline & Dan Campanelli, Gavin & Yvonne Frost, and Janet & Stewart Farrar, to name a few. Some of my favorite 'newer' authors are Silver RavenWolf, D.J. Conway, Edain McCoy, and Gerina Dunwich.

I have many varied interests including Tarot, Astrology, Runes, Celtic lore, all pantheons of Mythology, all aspects of Wicca and Magick, Star Trek, fantasy novels, Xanth, Shannara, Piers Anthony, Terry Brooks, lengthy and challenging PlayStation RPGs like the "Final Fantasy" series and "Legend of Dragoon", some Nintendo64 games like "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time", and "Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage", computers, the Internet, and much more...

Blessed Be Everyone,
StormWing

Patti Wigington

I've been actively practicing witchcraft since 1987, and consider myself a kitchen witch of the Frugal Craftiness Trad. In addition to rootling around my herb garden, sewing nifty-cool Renaissance costumes, and banging on my djembe drum, somehow I manage to find time to go camping and do fun stuff with my wonderful husband and three children.
Because I occasionally feel the need for a "real job", I write for a local newspaper here in central Ohio, covering local council meetings and writing human interest stories focusing on families and health. Also, I've had a couple of short stories published in regional anthologies, and have been lucky enough to sell a few freelance pieces here and there.
The coolest part of all, though, is that I just self-published my first novel at the beginning of 2004, entitled MacFarlane's Ridge.  I've also completed a second manuscript, Glannaich's Daughter, which is a gothic mystery that I am trying to sell to a traditional publisher. On top of that, I just finished up a manuscript tentatively titled Summer's Ashes, which is the first in a trilogy for teens, and is about a girl who discovers that her late father's family is in fact an old family of witches. Finally, I'm in the outline phase of a workbook on witchcraft for young spellcrafters, focusing strictly on magick rather than on any particular pantheon of Diety.
My magickal interests include any kind of spellwork that involve poppets, and the use of unusual or interesting items in spellworking, such as children's toys, Craftsman tools, and stuff I make myself. I'm fairly certain the Universe has a good chuckle at my expense on a regular basis.
If I were the Gods, I'd probably laugh at me too!
